Author Biography

Brandon Kilbourne

Brandon Kilbourne is a Pushcart-nominated poet and research biologist living in Berlin, Germany. A Cave Canem Fellow, his debut collection Natural History (Graywolf Press, 2025) was winner of the 2025 Cave Canem Prize and went on to be selected by Smithsonian Magazine as one of the ten best science books of 2025, in addition to being a finalist for the 2026 PEN Open Book Award. In 2024, he was also Artist-in-Residence at the School of Veterinary Medicine at Louisiana State University, where he explored parallels between poetry and science.
